The National Telecommunications Regulatory Commission(NTRC) through its Universal Service Fund Office (USFO) hosted yet another free Summer Tech Training, during the period July 12th to 30th 2021 in the form of in person and online sessions. The targeted in person locations were chosen throughout the island to ensure inclusiveness. Training was held at the following Community ICD Centers; Castries, Soufriere and Vieux Fort, all of which benefited from a previous USFO project.

In keeping with the Universal Service Fund regulations, the objective of the training seminar was to promote technological innovation among school aged students. Our target groups for the face-to-face introductory training sessions were ages 15-19, while our online sessions were ages 15 and older.

This year since we continue to be impacted with Covid-19 and the restrictions as it regards social distancing as such, we provided in person introductory training sessions with a controlled number in keeping with the protocols. Introductory python training was also offered online. The introductory training continues along with an intermediate training online.
